Just a day after the "Planning Committee" of NHDC approved the building of 78 houses at the Holwell Turn, the Parish Council has received a letter from the developers Gladman to say that they are now going to push ahead with "phase 2" of the development - a further 99 houses on the adjoining field.

We are more prepared this time. We will for a start not believe what we were told with the original development: that the outline planning approval is not that important; that the real battle comes when the detail is submitted and the exact number of houses is known.We know that this application has to be fought from the word go with every tool at our disposal:- planning and legal measures, the press, the community - whatever it takes to stop this unwanted expansion.We will ensure this time around that we receive correct information from NHDC and that online facilities are up to the job - not the intermittent so-called portal which was available up to now.
