The purpose of this website is to keep parishioners of Pirton informed and up to date with Parish Council meetings and village issues. The Parish Council usually meets on the second Thursday of every month starting at 7.45pm with the first quarter of an hour available for public participation when parishioners can voice their views or concerns. We welcome any member of the parish to sit in on our meetings.

Vacancy for Parish Clerk and RFO

The current Clerk and RFO will be leaving his post with effect from 30 April 2025.

Pirton Parish Council is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic person to take on the role of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. The post is part time, 12 hours per week, working mainly from home. The hours of work are flexible except for attendance at the monthly meetings of the Council.

PRE-PLANNING APPLICATION CONSULTATION FOR PROPOSED SHARED REPLACEMENT ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS APPARATUS AT LAND AT PIRTON SPORTS AND SOCIAL CLUB, 19 WALNUT TREE ROAD, PIRTON, HITCHIN, SG5 3PX (NGR E: 514995, N: 231514)

Details of a pre-planning application for a 20 metre high 5G telecoms mast and associated cabinets has been received by the Parish Council. The Council has a limited time to respond to this, has been seeking advice and clarification and is most concerned over the impact such a development might have at the Recreation Ground. The proposed site would take up valuable car parking space, would possibly affect the drainage solution for the new pavilion, would require its own electricity supply and access for construction of the mast and associated works could be a problem.
